On September 28th a 7.9 earthquake hit Indonesia and triggered a massive tsunami, bringing 20ft waves that wiped out parts of the island. Early reports state over 840 have been killed by this disaster, but much is still unknown. ShelterBox Response Teams are monitoring the situation and assessing our ability to send aid b communicating with local governments and Rotary colleagues.
Response teams are still assessing the needs in the Philippines after Super Typhoon Mangkhut struck on September 15th. Sustained windspeeds of 210 km/h, gusting 285 km/h, and heavy rain triggering flooding and landslides have left families with nothing. Teams are on the ground to deliver the right aid to the most vulnerable families.
