Step up and start walking for shelter!

Step 1: Goal

Choose a specific quantifiable goal. Choose a distance that you will to raise a set amount of money per km.  Or choose a day streak and raise funds for the number of consecutive days that you will walk.

Step 2: Route 

Choose a route to walk, you can use apps such as Footpath to map out the exact distance or time that you’ve decided to commit. This helps to ensure that you can reach your goal!

Step 3: Fundraising Page 

Create your own fundraising page to share with your supporters. It’s yours to personalize with photos, messages and updates. This is also where all of your supporters can pledge towards your goal! Don’t forget to email your circle to let them know about your new page! Check out a sample template here.

Step 4: Track 

Don’t forget to set an activity tracker when you go on your walk! This way it is easy to keep track of every kilometre or minute that you walk. It’s also a great motivator to post on your fundraising page! Your supporters will be able to follow along with every step you take showing your amazing dedication to families in need of shelter around the world.

Meg and Alice's Long Walk

British supporters Meg and Alice will be virtually walking the 1744.2km length of the UK from their living room! They’ll be recording their daily walks, whether that’s their socially distant strolls outside or hiking up and down the stairs in their own homes!
