More than 80% of countries experiencing humanitarian and climate emergencies are also facing issues of gender inequality.

Ana’s home was one of the 20,000 destroyed in Mozambique by Cyclone Dineo. Torrential rains and powerful winds left 130,000 people in need of assistance.

Ana said: ‘My house was completely flattened by Dineo.’

This equipment will help me make the shelter stronger and better.

rebuilding their lives

The four friends left the collection centre by climbing in the back of a pick-up truck and disappeared off into the bush, waving cheerfully.

The women knew they would be able to get help from their community to repair their damaged homes, and that the tools would be useful for everyone.

This aid will mean people can rebuild their lives and livelihoods, and protect themselves from the weather.
