TURN YOUR PASSION INTO ACTION FOR GOOD

At ShelterBox, we go the extra mile to provide families who have been forced from their homes by disaster or conflict with the shelter and supplies they need to survive. But we can’t do it alone.
ShelterBox Adventurers are ordinary people who take on extraordinary challenges, often with a ShelterBox strapped to their backs, to raise awareness and funding for our vital work.

ShelterBox Adventurers are a passionate group of volunteers who take on a personal challenge, usually with a physical or endurance component, to raise awareness and funding for the global work of ShelterBox.
They choose a challenge, set a fundraising goal, then get to work!

While your challenge will likely be difficult, becoming a ShelterBox Adventurer isn’t. We’ve designed it to be as simple as possible, giving you more time to focus on achieving your goal.
Become an Adventurer in these four easy steps:
- Apply and tell us your life-long dream or challenge you would like to take on in support of ShelterBox
- Plan out the details of your challenge and set a launch date
- Raise funds by promoting your challenge on social media and beyond along the way
- Complete your challenge
But, if you are interested in going the extra mile…
Engage with the press
Adventurers are frequently approached by news media to cover their incredible stories of triumph. We’ve had adventurers featured on podcasts, local news channels, and even national media outlets. This is optional of course, but this exposure is essential to helping ShelterBox raise awareness of our mission to fight global displacement.
Back the Box
Adventurers often take our iconic green ShelterBox on the journey with them. Whether carried, worn like a backpack, or towed behind, the ShelterBox stands out and gives Adventurers an opportunity to share their story. This feature of your adventure is optional, cost per box varies by shipping location and size.
Once your application form is submitted, our team will jump into action, supporting you every step of the way.
You’ll have ShelterBox support with:
- Brainstorming the details of your fundraiser
- Setting up a personal webpage and donation form to track your progress
- A fundraising toolkit with tips on how to maximize your fundraiser
- Promotion on ShelterBox Canada social media channels
- ShelterBox gear you can proudly wear along the way
- A press release on your behalf to kick off your adventure
- Thanking your supporters for their donations
From ticking items off bucket lists to setting new world records, our Adventurers continue to awe and inspire us with their legendary challenges: Climbing all of British Colombia’s peaks, solo rowing across the Atlantic ocean, cycling the length of North America.
There is no limit to the types of challenges ShelterBox Adventurers take on. But they all have one thing in common. They go above and beyond to help shelter families who have been displaced by disaster.
Get creative! We can’t wait to see what your adventure has in store.
No financial commitment is required!
While becoming an Adventurer doesn’t cost anything, participants are expected to cover all costs and fees associated with their personal challenge, including travel, lodging, gear, etc.
100% of all funds raised will be donated to ShelterBox Canada; a global non-profit organization focused on providing emergency shelter and essential supplies to families displaced by disaster or conflict.
