ShelterBox responds instantly to disasters around the world by providing emergency shelter and lifesaving supplies that families need to survive in the immediate aftermath of a disaster.
A typical ShelterBox contains a family tent, blankets, water purification, cooking utensils, a stove, a tool kit, a children’s activity pack and other vital items. Highly trained ShelterBox Response Team volunteers deliver aid, working with other international organizations and local partners.
Every year (on average), 27 million are displaced by natural disasters. Many more are forced to flee their homes due to conflict. ShelterBox generally responds to a new disaster every 2-3 weeks. Some of these disasters make the headline news and some are relatively unseen, but they all have one thing in common – families in desperate need of shelter and life-saving equipment.
